Some state governments also offer additional incentives like exemption from road tax and registration fees on EVs (like in Delhi RTO is free for EVs). These subsidies lower the total cost of ownership over the lifetime of the electric vehicle you can directly save upto 8 to 10%.
Zero emissions
The biggest advantage of EV car over the petrol is that these cars don’t emit any waste or toxic gas in air. Hence these cars are best option to curb the pollution level especially in a jam packed citires. EVs have zero tailpipe emissions as they run on electricity rather than burning petrol or diesel.
This makes them environmentally friendly as they do not emit greenhouse gases, particulate matter, or other pollutants that contribute to air pollution and climate change. Especially in urban areas, replacing petrol cars with EVs can significantly improve local air quality and public health.
Low maintenance
This is another biggest factor why people looking for the EV cars. As electric cars have fewer moving parts than internal combustion engine vehicles. The electric motor and transmission are very low maintenance compared to complex petrol engines. There is no oil change required, no issue of clutch gear / gear plates, and brake pads last longer due to regenerative braking that recovers energy.

A petrol based car maintenance cost is around Rs 2500 after 3 months (nearly 10,000 for 1 year), but in case of electric car you can save 80% of this amount and use it anywhere else for the other work or even plan a long route trip.

The instant torque available from electric motors allows them to handle ascents well without loss of power. This makes EVs ideal for driving in mountainous regions and places with a lot of elevation changes. Well when we talk about the EV cars then basically 3 parts are very important – 1. electric motor, 2. battery pack, 3. charging port. Now when you charge car by inserting charger of either 3.3 KW AC or 7.2 KW DC then charging begins and it stores the current in DC in battery pack. So once, car gets charged to 100% then its time to start it and you can do it via inserting key or start push button. Set the car in drive mode, press the accelerator pedal. The accelerator pedal will input the current from battery pack to motor and this way the motor will move and it will propel the wheel of car.
