Are you tired of waiting for long while charging the electric car? You love EV cars, but you hate about this time-consuming charging process ? Well if you have been dreaming of please solve this charging issue as it is irritating and a full time-waste, then you must be read this… as a company named Nyobolt just figured out how to charge electric vehicles in under 5 minutes as fast as we fill up gas-powered vehicles.
As you know guys, at present time where everyone shifting on electric cars – one of the big problems that EV cars face is the time it takes to charge. Recent advancements have seen some fast-charging EVs, such as the Ioniq 6, which takes just 18 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent.
However, some vehicles take much longer than that. But Nyobolt recently showed off a prototype that could bring EVs one step closer to recharging almost as fast as we fill up gas-powered vehicles.
Nyobolt demonstrated its new prototype at Millbrook Proving Ground in England. It points to the improvements that we’re also seeing from companies like BYD, which recently demonstrated a hybrid drivetrain that can easily go up to 1,250 miles without refueling.
It has been revealed in the test that the technology behind Nyobolt’s new battery uses a special type of anode material, which helps to achieve fast charging. It offers better battery cell design and, combined with a software suite, improves charging performance even further.
All of this makes for a fast-charging EV that can outperform other options currently available on the market.
For the test, Nybolt developed a new 35kWh lithium-ion battery and in their first live demonstration they showed that the battery charged from 10% to 80% in just 4 and a half minutes, which equates to about 5 minutes.
There is one drawback and it is, Nybolt used a 350kW DC super fast charger, and this type of charger isn’t widely available yet. Second, despite being able to recharge quickly, the battery size is quite small and only offers a range of about 155 miles on a single charge.
So Nyobolt’s prototype solves one problem of fast charging, but it is limited to few kilometers only and availability of 350kW DC super fast charger is another big concern (might be both solved by company in near future).
Nyobolt hasn’t yet started production of its new prototype EV. But when it does, it is likely that the company will share its technology with various OEMs and car brands, especially those that offer performance EVs or entry-level mini EVs for city commutes. This will be best for EV cars business!
This revolutionary fast electric car charging technology of Nyobolt has the potential to significantly impact the EV car market worldwide. This won’t only offer quick charging facility but also offer lighter and more efficient battery options. With the light of battery, the customer will get more range and the problem of range anxiety will also be solved.
Another positive point as mentioned on bbc.com – The firm also claims it has minimised degradation – it says the battery still charges to 80% after 4,000 cycles.
Finally, this initiative by Nyobolt is not only a huge step toward overcoming the charging time problem, but it also has the potential to change the future of EV cars.
