In India, Maruti dominates the auto industry. This is the only company in India that sells the greatest number of cars to clients on a monthly basis. Therefore, the company intends to introduce an electric variant of the Alto EV, which will be the most affordable electric vehicle in India—even 10-15% less expensive than the Comet EV, which has a starting price of 6.99 lakh.
The company had revealed its new portfolio of electric vehicles at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 and stated that it will introduce 6 new models, including the Alto, by 2023.
Based on the leaked specifications, we may anticipate that the base model of Alto EV will have a 17.2–19.2 kWh battery pack and offer a decent range of 200 km in 1 charge.
